Summer Style: Changes to my wardrobe

Summer style for us here in the UK surprisingly doesn’t include many bikinis or shorts, but rather summer dresses, gorgeous skirts, and light and breathable clothing for those sunny days that are very rare. For me, the biggest fashion staple I wanted this summer was a new coat. I am very fussy and indecisive sometimes when it comes to shopping for coats, whether for winter or summer. So much so that I end up wearing the same coat year round until it becomes unwearable. I wanted to put a stop to this, and actually took a leap and ordered a coat from ASOS.

I didn’t have a chance to try it on, or overthink about the price, I just hit purchase.  I knew I wanted a duster style coat, and definitely in a light colour, and this coat just stood out right away. As soon as I tried this coat on, I instantly fell in love. I have had so many compliments already when I wear this. Taking a chance on a new style, or new colour over a new season can surprise you, and it doesn’t have to break the bank. This beautiful coat was only £39,99 and I am so happy I decided to purchase it.

Not only is it clothing we can update for summer, but accessories are also great to help change things up for a new season. You can definitely wear black anytime of year, particularly when it comes to shoes and bags, but I fell in love with this cute little bag that is perfect for everyday use.

It is small and compact, and this tan colour is perfect for complimenting those summery tones and bright colours. I found this bag in Tesco, and I knew I just had to get it. Though it no longer seems to be available, there is a similar one here in a beautiful teal, also perfect for summer.

These items are just the beginning for building a summer wardrobe round a few staple items. Best of all, you don’t have to spend a lot of money to make a few little updates.

What changes do you make to update your style for summer?
