Hi Everyone,
So today I want to discuss the importance of the Eyebrow! Not only with makeup but without. I know how much your eyebrows can change your look so easily, and that’s why it is important to keep them under control and well-groomed. As I am from Liverpool, I have always been aware that the eyebrows are a very important part of your look. So much so that when I was younger and too young to pluck, I actually tried to shave my eyebrows into a better shape. BIG MISTAKE. Not only did I end up with the worst eyebrows in the world, but I fully blame that decision on the fact that I now have naturally rubbish eyebrows. They are thin hairs, they grow whichever way they please and I honestly feel a little self conscious about them. I am happy to go without make up, but I always feel like I need to add a little pencil to my eyebrows, just to give them some shape.
(You can see just how much of a difference brows can make…and a hairbrush actually)
So why are the eyebrows so important?
The eyebrows are a great way to draw attention to your eyes, and perfectly finish off your look. Whether you prefer natural make up, or you are getting ready for a night out, you can change your eyebrows to match both occasions. They can be more relaxed, or you can really go for it and add extra glamour to your look. I also think due to the rise in popularity of the thick eyebrow look (thank you Cara Delevingne) they have been highlighted more and more over the last year or so. Unless you live in Liverpool, in which case, they have always been high priority 🙂 In Liverpool you will get as many compliments on your eyebrows as you will about the outfit you are wearing, which I kind of love! If I ever get a compliment, I consider it a job well done with my eyebrow pencil, as it is only the last two years that I have actually started to properly use pencils and brow kits.
I’m still new to perfecting the brow look as there are so many varied looks you can go for. I personally don’t like the very straight, almost too perfect look that a lot of people have. I just think there should be some kind of natural essence about it. When I wear makeup I want to be able to still recognise myself, and heavy brows or too much makeup just doesn’t work for that. My favourite eyebow look is Jessica Alba, they are well groomed and thick but still natutal. I wish mine looked like that but sadly I don’t think it will ever happen!
My tools at the minute vary between the following items:
- Body shop- Brow and liner kit
- Lancome- Eyebrow Pencil ( Le Crayon sourcils)
- Eyelure – Brow definer– This no longer in stock but I have included the link as they have really great products)
I actually use the three in a combo and it works for me, but I really want to step it up and invest in something better. I am going to get my eyebrows tinted soon, but I am interested to see what you all can recommend. List your favourite brow kits, brushes and pencils below 🙂
Love
