If you read my last post, than you know that I recently purchased some new blushers from Nyx Cosmetics. Today I wanted to try this blush out and see how it looks. Sometimes I can get a little complacent with my makeup looks. Rather than experimenting, I can get into the habit of just sticking to my everyday, simple look that I can do in under 10 minutes. There is nothing wrong with a simple look, however, I do also love to experiment and test out new products, new trends and really discover a new look, I may not have tried before. This post is still quite a basic look, but testing out a product I haven’t tried before is always fun, as I love being able to provide my thoughts to you on whatever I am using.
I decided to try Wanderlust first, mainly because I am a little obsessed with the name.
I started my makeup by applying the Illamasqua liquid foundation, with a beauty sponge. After blending in the foundation, I actually used my new Nix HD concealer for this look and I LOVE it. This concealer is definitely a new favourite of mine. It’s brightening, easy to apply and very easy to blend. The shade (which is 05 medium) seems to be a great choice to match my skin and the foundation.
If you have read any of my previous look book posts, than you know my go to eyebrow kit currently is the Anastasia Beverly hills dip brow pomade. For today’s post, I created my brows with the pomade, using the Anastasia Beverly hills duo brush, (This is a step I cannot skip, as you can see I do not have much natural brow).
After the concealer, I added a touch of eye shadow, using my Sleek makeup Oh so special I-divine Palette and followed that up with eye liner from Charlotte Tilbury and Sleek mascara. The final touch was of course the Wanderlust blush. I added a small amount and just built this up. I haven’t actually used a blush quite like this before. I’m not sure if it is because it is a baked blush or not, but it didn’t feel like much product was picked up on the brush. However, when actually applying it to my skin, it did apply quite easily. I don’t like a heavy blush regardless as it should be a subtle hint of colour, so I was really happy with how this turned out.
I will definitely be creating more looks with the new products I have recently purchased, so keep checking back for those. Nyx is a brand I haven’t tried before, but after trying both the HD concealer and the baked blush I am most certainly a convert.
Thank you for reading!
Love
