Review: Illamasqua Foundation

Today I wanted to talk about the recent new purchases I made, from the lovely brand Illamasqua. I decided to invest in some good foundation from a cruelty free brand. I researched and read reviews, which all praised the foundation at Illamasqua, so I took the plunge.

I did go into the shop to get a perfect match for my skin, and it really is a great shade, pretty perfect for my skin tone. The woman who helped me in the shop was also wonderful, I really love good customer service when it comes to buying new makeup brands, especially when you are a little unsure. I purchased the Skin base liquid foundation and the Powder foundation as I don’t always like to wear liquid everyday.

Skin Base Liquid Foundation

The liquid foundation is what I was really excited to try as I had heard a lot of good things about this product. I have to say, that it did not disappoint! This foundation is quite frankly delicious 🙂 It is the perfect shade, consistency and applies so easily. I use the same routine as I have with previous liquid foundation, taking a beauty blender and using that to evenly apply. This foundation worked perfectly for the beauty bender, and I didn’t have to use much product at all. What I love about this foundation is that it gives me a slight glow before even applying any bronzer. It’s long-lasting, and though it is a small bottle, I really do see this lasting for quite a while.

Powder foundation

 

The powder is also a really great product. Mainly because although it is a foundation, it can also be used as a setting powder. I was actually looking to get a setting powder at some point so this is perfect. Again the powder gives a really nice glow to your skin, it is long-lasting and is a really great base. I do tend to use powder for my everyday makeup look, so I really wanted to make sure it was worth buying. I really think the coverage of this foundation is perfect for me, it blends nicely on the skin, works well with my primer and concealer and most importantly, it lasts! I tried this foundation out along with the liquid foundation on a night out and it was still pretty much perfect hours later, I actually left it on overnight as I didn’t get home until the next morning and it was still perfect. Great product 🙂 (Though I don’t recommend leaving on until 8am the next day…oops!)
