Hi Everyone,
Today I wanted to show you a summer makeup look. Yesterday I attended my first BBQ of the summer season and wanted do have a bit more of a spring/summer look. I’m not someone who wears eye shadow much in my day-to-day makeup look, but when I do wear it I like to experiment and have fun! Here’s How I achieved my look 🙂
I started by applying the Laura Mercier Hydrating Foundation Primer to my face, but not the eyes. Rubbing his in and letting it rest on your face, is the perfect base for your makeup (especially in the warm weather).
A good tip I have picked up from a favourite youtuber & Instagramer Brianna Sky, is to apply eye shadow first that way you can clean it up before applying your foundation, so today I decided to take this route. Using the body shop summer eye shadow palette and a limited edition Lily Cole collection eyeshadow palette, I started with a subtle pink and blended this over my eye lid. Next taking a bright white shimmer, I added this to the inner corners of my eye, this makes you appear more awake and your eyes pop! After this I then used the very bright pink from the summer palette to really add some summer color in their.
After ensuring this was blended, I added a touch of the lime green (from the same palette) along the lash line, blending this too. Lastly I added a line of Liquid liner. I had one of those frustrating days when one eye just wouldn’t agree with me, so it isn’t perfect.
After applying my Lancome Artliner liquid eyeliner,I then started with my face base. You may be thinking, where is the mascara, but I always like to apply this last. I’m not sure why but it’s just my system 🙂
With the base I decided to use my liquid foundation, from The Body Shop, rather than a powder. I applied dots around my face, and blended with a beauty sponge. Allowed this dry and then added the Mac Pro Longwear concealer where needed, again dabbing and blending this with a sponge. After the base was done, I then added my new favourite beauty product! The Laura Mercier secret brightening powder. Honestly, I love this product and it is only something I purchased a few weeks ago! I applied this under my eyes, and left this to sit for a while. (Looks Lovely right?)
Whilst waiting for this to set, I applied my blusher, I just use a mixture of peach and pink from The body shop.I do want to try some others, but I really don’t see a lot of blusher shades that I like right now, so sticking to what you know is always best until you find a product you really love. After my blusher, I then fixed my eyebrows. You can see what I use and how I do this in my previous post, but I do tend to mix products to get the perfect brows. A combination of The Body Shop and Lancome products achieve the brows.
Next I blended in that Brightening powder under my eyes and finished with mascara and a little added eyeliner on my bottom lash line. There you have it! A simple and subtle summery look 🙂
Thanks for reading everyone! Have a great day and if you can recommend some good blushers to try then let me know below.
