Little Love Book Club- What happened?

So, this is just a quick post to explain why there has been a lack of book club posts the last few months. For anyone who has been waiting for the next review, I am sorry the posts have disappeared, but there are a few reasons behind this.

In my last book club post I briefly touched on a book club pick that I didn’t quite finish, which was called The Pilgrim. Try as I might, I just could not get through that book. Vanille loved it, but as I didn’t finish the book I didn’t think it would be right to comment or rate the book as I couldn’t give an opinion on the entire book.

After this I did review Faking friends here. Following that book, it seems to be the case that life just gets in the way. Vanille was on holiday, busy being her own boss (and killing it), as well as me trying to balance my extra studying, my own trip away and work too. So life kind of got on top of us for a little bit. We did squeeze in another book called The couple next door by Shari Lapena. Now this book started out very strong, had a lot of mystery and some interesting characters too. I enjoyed it for the most part, but by the end it became a little too far fetched and unbelievable. I had planned on reviewing it, but I didn’t really know where I stood on the book by the end and unless I can write a post and want to read it myself, it just didn’t seem like a review that would make any sense. Even now I still don’t know how I feel about that book! (My studying schedule may have also clouded my judgment on this haha).

So we then fast forward to last month. Vanille and I read our books, met up before seeing the fabulous Jonathan Van Ness to discuss and we discovered that we had inadvertently read two complete different books! This was my fault (of course). I took a picture of a book we could read, and then somehow managed to pick up the wrong one! Similar, but completely wrong. So yes Vanille and I met up and were talking about two completely different books for a good 5 or 6 minutes before we realised! So that leads us to now. Both a little less busy than we were, and finally catching up with ourselves and our reading. Expect a new review in the next week, and I promise we will be bringing a lot more book choices into 2020!
