Today I wanted to talk a little more in-depth about the trainers behind Tone it up, as well as my experience of being part of the Tone it up community. You may have seen my posts documenting the Tone it up challenge so far, but today I wanted to talk more about why I love this community and the two inspirational ladies behind it!

Karena

I don’t know why, but I find myself wanting to describe Karena as a Bad ass, which I mean as the highest of compliments. If you look up the word unstoppable, I’m pretty sure you would see a picture of Karena. If you have heard her talk about her journey and why she got into fitness, it’s pretty amazing. I won’t go into too much detail, as I don’t want to focus on that but Karena was on a self-destructive path at times, and she chose to turn it around and in my opinion she has done an amazing job. Not only did she develop the Tone it up plan from the ground up with her partner in crime Katrina, but she was a motivator in Kat’s journey.

Karena often does triathlon’s and other events, she trains hard and along with Katrina and I’m sure all the other Tone it up team, works incredibly hard with long hours and no break. Karena is a bombshell, constantly pushing the tone it up ladies to keep going, keep on track and motivating us by sticking to the plan and workouts herself.

What I love about Karena, is that she is living proof of what hard work can get you! She radiates health and positivity, which is just what we Tone it up and none tone it up ladies need to see!

Ever since I discovered Tone it up through instagram, I was always really drawn to Katrina. I don’t know if it’s because I am just jealous of her mermaid like hair, or just me liking her figure more, but I find Katrina so motivating for when I can’t get out of bed. I wouldn’t say I prefer one trainer over another because Katrina and Karena work as a team. They are as close as two people can be, and to say this trainer is my favourite would sound wrong to me. What it comes down to is that Katrina herself has transformed her body through the Tone it up plan, and that really motivates me.

Katrina moved away from her hometown and worked in a gym, always putting her classes and clients before herself, and therefore this caused her to fall into some unhealthy habits. It was only when she met Karena and the two of them started working together, and developing the Tone it up nutrition plan that Katrina saw a change. What I love about Kat is that she has a similar personality to me, she’s so encouraging in the workout videos and as mentioned, I find her story motivational to keep trying and keep going. They like to say Kat was the test bunny for the plan, and it clearly shows that the plan works. Kat looks great, but more importantly she always says she has never felt better.

The Nutrition Plan

I have talked a lot about the meals during the 8 week challenge, but the nutrition plan is one of the best and most important parts of Tone it up.

I won’t go into too much detail, as this is exclusive to Tone it up members, but the basic idea is to fill your body with essential nutrients and everything you need to be at your best. This is based around 5 meals a day. Karena and Katrina have not only provided fantastic recipes for every occasion: breakfast, lunch, entrees, dinner, snacks and desserts, but also labelled what recipe is best to have for each meal. They make it as easy as possible, and though I haven’t even begun to try most of the recipes, the ones I have cooked so far have always been delicious.

When you become a member, you are also provided with every single special plan the ladies have ever produced, and any future plan they release. Currently there is the main nutrition plan, and 7 additional plans each with a different theme such as Summer recipes, bikini series challenge and more!

The Community

Where do I begin. Before signing up, I had read that the Tone it up community is one of the best parts of becoming a member, and this statement could not be more accurate. When you are a member, you have access to forums and discussions groups where ladies from all over the world can chat and motivate each other. If you are struggling to stay on track, they will help you remember why you started. If you need a great recipe, they will provide several, if you are looking for guidance or advice they will offer it, this community is amazing! Everything you could need is in the community. People often arrange meet ups, so those who are members can meet up and work out together, grab coffee together, whatever it may be. Friendships have been created because of Tone it up and I think that is such a beautiful thing.

Friendship

This leads me on to my final reason for loving being part of Tone it up, it brought me a new friend… Vanille. I spoke about the first time I met Vanille in person, a few months ago here, and I am so happy that we did. Vanille and I began speaking on the Tone it up website, until we eventually just switched to texting. I couldn’t be more grateful for joining Tone it up because it has brought me a wonderful friend. Though we became TIU buddies to motivate each other to stay on track, we ended up having pizza and wine when we met…. which just shows we are meant to be friends really 🙂

Vanille is actually responsible for my blog logo so definitely give her a shout if you are looking for some new logos or graphics 🙂

Tone it up has already given me so much more than I thought it would. Now that I have fully committed to this challenge I feel myself getting stronger and more confident in my own skin… what greater feeling can there be! This post was not just to let anyone interested in Tone it up, gain a little more insight, this was my chance to say thank you to Karena and Katrina for developing this amazing community and nutrition plans. It really is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

If you want to learn more then follow the ladies on twitter and instagram, or visit the site here! Honestly there are some days when I don’t want to exercise, and I go through their instagram and I am instantly motivated! Check out the ladies and even if you just use their Youtube videos, I promise you will not regret it.

Thanks for reading everyone!

Love
