Take care of you…

Hi everyone,

So yesterday I had the day off, as I decided to take a long weekend and recharge. This is partly because I had plans for the weekend, and also because as mentioned I am not loving my current job. What I love about having this extra time, is that it gives you time to catch up on things, unwind and relax.

Taking care of yourself should be a priority for all of us, and yet when life gets a little chaotic we stop thinking about what would make us happy and leave it until it’s too late. This can lead to becoming unhealthy in numerous ways. High blood pressure, stress, unhealthy eating habits and forgetting to make time for what makes you happy.

Today I just wanted to talk about how I take care of myself, and if I plan to have some me time, what I like to do and hopefully remind you all how important it is to look after yourself. So what do I like to do?

  • Reading– I love to read, and often I will read my book on the bus to and from work, but taking the time to curl up on the couch or in a cafe with my latest read is something that really makes me happy.

  • Movie day-What better way to relax than to put your pajama’s on, settle down on the couch or bed and really switch off from your troubles or worries for the day.
  • Exercise- I know, I know, exercise requires some effort and it may not seem like an enjoyable thing to do but it is such an amazing stress reliever and I’m not suggesting running a marathon, but taking a yoga class, or taking a dip in the swimming pool is something that will make you feel so good afterwards.
  • Food- Now I don’t know anyone who doesn’t enjoy a meal out. I love getting dressed up, trying new foods and new places and with good company there’s nothing better to bring a smile to your face.

Next time you have some time to unwind, or even if you have to schedule time then why not use some of my suggestions, and let me know how you like relax! I could always use new suggestions 🙂
Love
